EWU 2.0

Postby Grizfan-24 » Fri Dec 05, 2014 11:52 am

A conversation about the game tomorrow.

A few ideas about what has gone wrong.

A few ideas worked well.

What Montana needs to do well in order to win.

I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Holy Smokes. Now we know how you filled your free time this week!!! :) Good analysis.

Around town, people are soooooooo sure that we have found our gear offensively. But I keep going back to who we found our gear against... We have played pretty crappy defensive teams since we "found our gear".

I am hopeful about tomorrow. But I think our defense is going to have to have a huge day, and we are going to have to get some breaks. Finish in the red zone, and make VA beat us with his arm. It is possible, but we have to put a complete together!!

Gonna be a long night and morning tomorrow!!! GO GRIZ!!!

You've had many great posts but this one is one of your best. I don't think that you left one key issue unaddressed. The bottom line thing that I took away from your post is that if the "status quo"
of the last three UM/EWU games doesn't change, the Griz won't win. I totally agree with you that a Griz victory will require red zone productivity(touchdowns), no turnovers and some ball control. Can the Griz win in a track meet with Eastern? Yes but the odds of a win are less in that type of game IMO. If the Griz run the ball and dominate TOP, have no turnovers, and somehow get some breaks, they can win this game on the road. To execute this game plan the Griz can't get torched early by big plays and fall behind by 20 plus points. That will be a death sentence for the Griz. I expect the Griz confidence to be up because of recent wins. But I also expect VA and company to be ready to play too. This has the makings of a classic football game. We'll just have to see what happens.
